United States Defense Cyber Security in 2022–23

The 2023 United States cybersecurity budget for defense is $1.2 billion, specifically allocated for FBI and the Department of Justice.

It is a highly sensitive budget allocation, which is exclusive of the $11 Bn budget earmarked for the civilian cybersecurity spending.

You can know more about the cybersecurity for defense in United states here — https://www.dhs.gov/topics/cybersecurity

However, the key websites for defense related cybersecurity are:

  • U.S. Army Cyber Command: https://www.arcyber.army.mil/
  • U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. TENTH Fleet: https://www.fcc.navy.mil/
  • Sixteenth Air Force (Air Forces Cyber): https://www.16af.af.mil/
  • U.S. MARINE CORPS FORCES CYBERSPACE COMMAND: https://www.marforcyber.marines.mil/

Organizations that achieve a certain threshold in cyber defenses can then carry out their normal operations in the face of persistent threats and complex attacks.

Just as soldiers have the means to coordinate artillery, machine guns, and grenade launchers in response to an attack, we must have the ability to coordinate countless cybersecurity technologies, like firewalls, systems management, identity management, and encryption administration, in order to respond to cyber threats when they arise.

The wide deployment of cyber technologies has improved our resilience towards cyber attacks, and the Army, along with every other sector, works collaboratively with all stakeholders and experts to increase awareness and ensure safe cyberspace by providing resilient, reliable cyber security technologies.

The increasing threat of cyber-attacks against critical infrastructure from organized criminal groups, coupled with technological advances in the current cyber-security market, remains a key driving force behind the increase of cyber-security solutions in the defense sector. Cyber vulnerability assessments are still essential for identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing threats faced by defense networks and computers.

US Defense Cybersecurity strategies, spending and capabilities directly impact our national security.

Not just civilian government, military forces have developed cyber capabilities to assist in their fights and protect their networks against adversaries during times of peace. This also means improved leadership in cyberattacks, data breaches, and other cyber security breaches space.
